Service for Visitors with Disabilities

The Museum welcomes groups of all abilities. We provide the following services; please feel free to take advantage of the services.

  • Free wheelchair rental service
    There are 5 wheelchairs at the 1F lobby service counter for free usage by physically disabled people.
  • Disabled parking
    On the Provincial Highway No.2 side of the museum (Sec.3 of Qingyun Rd.), there are 2 handicap parking spaces for disabled visitors.
  • Disabled ramp
    The handicap ramp next to the handicap parking grid serves to guide disabled visitors to reach the entrance of the lobby.
  • Service bell for the disabled
    The east and west side of the lobby are equipped with service bells, if disabled visitors require assistance to enter the museum, simply press the ring button and our staff will provide the necessary assistance.
  • Disabled toilet
    Each restroom in the museum is equipped with handicap toilets, which also have disaster sirens for the hearing impaired.

    2F-Next to the international conference hall, next to the sea floor of the permanent exhibition.
    3F-Next to the Plains Level exhibition area of the permanent exhibition.
  • Disabled elevator
    Handicap elevator in the lobby: leads to the 2F international conference hall and the 2F introductory exhibition interactive theater. Handicap elevator in the permanent exhibition area: the elevator in the “Time Gallery” leads to the 4F “Mountains Level”, 3F “Plains Level”, 2F “Ocean Level”.
  • Disabled stairs
    The stairs to the permanent exhibition complies with the ergonomic design standard for handicap stairs.
  • Disabled official website
    The official website has obtained the A+ Handicap Website Badge for the convenience of the visually impaired visitors to browse the museum's information.
  • Voice guided tour brochure
    Free voice guided tour rental service is available at the 1F lobby, while the voice guided tour content is also produced into large font brochures for reading convenience, visitors who require such service please contact the information desk at the lobby.
  • Floor plans
    Each floor features a floor plan, clearly indicating all the handicap services available.
    ※Should there be any inadequacies in the handicap service, you are welcome to make suggestions in order for the museum to provide better service.

Related regulations

1. Physically disabled visitors can take the wheelchair/electric wheel chair to tour the museum.
2. Guide dogs are welcomed in the museum.
